comp.lang.modula2 is a modula-2 newsgroup where you can get really useful information and help. The archive of the group contains very useful information and also some pieces of code.
Google Groups provides an easy way to browse the content of the newsgroup without a Newsreader.

Other Modula-2 Newsgroups (I do not check these very often, as there do not seem to appear many postings):

1. maybe usable information in the archives:

2. existing, maybe existing, maybe useless...

comp.compilers: if you're interested in writing your own compiler, contains quite a lot of Modula-2 related information. browse content of newsgroup at Google Groups.
Also the archives of the newsgroups for Modula-3 (Google) and Oberon (Google) offer a lot of Modula-2 related posts.
If you are interested in programming embedded systems, you may want to search comp.arch.embedded. There's some information on Modula-2 there (Google).

First post (12 Oct 1983) archived by Google from net.lang.mod2 which is now comp.lang.modula2:

"Has anyone used a modulo2 compiler? What machines
do they exist for? Doesn't Apple have one? thanx, B"

Eight days later, another thread (20 Oct 1983):

ARRRGH! Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2
Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2 Modula-2

and NOT Module-2 or modulo2!

Sorry. But I mean, REALLY! Change the newsgroup name so that you at least
have to spell THAT right!

Here's one of the classic "why do the better languages disappear posts":

[snip]
Of course the real reason that Java, C++, Delphi and Visual Basic are
beating the pants off of Oberon, Modula-3 and other superior languages
is advertising pure and simple. It's the same reason Lotus 123 beat
the pants off of VisiCalc. I know plenty of college professors who
claim never to have heard of any descendant of Pascal beyond Modula-2.
Modula-2 and Oberon should have dominated the college educational
markets, but now CS depts. are considering whether to go from Pascal
to Java or C++ without giving the Modula descendants any consideration.

Oberon, Modula-X, Component-Pascal, whatever they want to call it, it
won't make any difference if the only people who know about it are those
who read this newsgroup. If BlackBox corp really wants to make an
impact in the market, then need to do full-color, full-page, comparative
adds in magazines like Dr. Dobbs Journal and the Communications of the
ACM.

Every now and then a thread appears in comp.lang.modula2 containing the question "what's happended to Borland Modula-2, Topspeed (=JPI) Modula-2?". Here's an extract from a post back from 1988:

modula/general #1937, from njensen, 504 chars, Fri Jan 22 19:17:31 1988
This is a comment to message 1933.

Well, what can I say Frode? It's a long story and rather boring
at that. Here is the short version: JPI Modula-2 and a super C
compiler was being developed by Borland making use of the code
generation technology you see in JPI Modula-2. Borland then
decided not to make use of this technology, which made me and
the people who developed the technology leave Borland. We
subsequently bought the technology from Borland for 1.7 million
Dollars and set up Jensen & Partners who is now selling JPI
Modula-2.
Now would you believe it, JPI M2 turns out to be the long-awaited
Borland Modula-2....!

I have to add that there is a version of Borland Modula-2 available (you can find a link in the compilers-section) for CP/M systems. This version was only sold in Europe for a short time and disappeared soon after its appearance. But it is amazing, as it looks like old Turbo Pascal versions or the FST environment.
